The Peace Govt announces readiness to end the war and calls for a Humanitarian Truce

 Mohammed Hassan El-Ta’aishi, the Prime Minister of the Government of Peace, announced the government’s “absolute readiness to end the war and prepare for an immediate humanitarian truce.”

In a press statement, El-Ta’aishi stated, “The option of peace is not merely a verbal pronouncement, but ought to be an institutional choice supported by the legitimacy of the people.” He indicated that this step comes as part of the government’s efforts to build a new Sudan based on the rule of law and institutions, and to establish a just and comprehensive peace as well as lasting stability.
