April 6th Statement

On April 6, Sudanese people commemorate two defining milestones in their national struggle: the 1985 uprising that ended the dictatorship of Jaafar Nimeiri and the 2019 popular revolution that reaffirmed the people’s commitment to freedom, justice, and democratic transformation.

This day represents the enduring will of the Sudanese people to resist authoritarianism and reject all forms of extremism and political violence. It also reminds the international community of Sudan’s ongoing struggle to protect the goals of the December 2018 revolution and to build a democratic and civilian-led state.

The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS ) reiterates its firm commitment to the revolutionary path and to the establishment of a state based on freedom, justice, and the rule of law, free from dictatorship and political extremism.

We call on the international community to stand with the Sudanese people in their legitimate aspirations for peace, stability, and democratic governance, and to support efforts aimed at ending violence and protecting civilians.

Mercy for the martyrs, recovery for the wounded, and safe return for the displaced and missing.

The Revolution Continues …
