The SPLM-N Political and Leadership Council unanimously
approves the Founding Charter and Constitution

The Political and Leadership Council of the People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) unanimously approved the Sudan Founding Charter and Constitution, and directed the constitutional institutions of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North to implement these documents, and emphasized the intent to proceed with the the Sudan Founding Alliance Charter, which reflected the vision of the new Sudan and addressed the issue of the relationship between religion and the State by explicitly stating the Secularism of the State and the right to self-determination if the Transitional Constitution and the Permanent Constitution failed to recognize or state the Secularism of the State or violated any of the supra-constitutional principles.
The (SPLM-N) Political and Leadership Council held a meeting in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on Saturday and Sunday (February 22nd and 23rd, 2025) to review the results of the Nairobi meetings in which a high-level delegation from the (SPLM-N) participated, as well as to review the Constitution and Founding Charter.
The Political and Leadership Council received a briefing from the (SPLM-N) delegation on the establishment of the alliance and the two documents (the Founding Charter and Constitution of the Transitional Peace Government). The Political and Leadership Council of the (SPLM-N) expressed appreciation for the efforts of the (SPLM-N) delegation that participated in the Nairobi meetings between the political and civil forces, the armed struggle forces that signed the Charter, and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
It is rather noteworthy that the meeting of the Political and Leadership Council of the (SPLM-N) was held in the presence of the head of the (SPLM-N), Commander Abdel Aziz Adam Al-Hilu, the (SPLM-N) First Deputy Commander Joseph Tukka Ali, the Vice Chairman of the (SPLM-N), Commander Jagod Makwar Marada, and Commander, Izzat Koko, the SPLM-N’s Chief of Staff, as well as Commander Ammar Amon Daldom, the Secretary-General of the (SPLM-N), along with the rest of the members of the (SPLM-N) Political and Leadership Council.
On behalf of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North, the founding declaration was signed by Commander Joseph Tukka Ali, the (SPLM-N) First Deputy, who is one of the oldest leaders in the (New Funj) region as he joined the (SPLM-N) in the early days of the struggle in (1984).
