Statement of Solidarity and Support for the United Arab Emirates

The Presidential Council of the Government of Peace and Unity expresses its full solidarity and support for the brotherly United Arab Emirates, its leadership, government, and people, following the attack that targeted an electrical equipment facility outside the inner perimeter of “Barakah” Nuclear Power Plant using three drones.

Targeting civilian and vital infrastructure constitutes an unacceptable behavioral pattern, in addition to being a cause for grave concern, given its potential repercussions on the security and stability of the region as well as the safety of its people. Furthermore, it contravenes established principles of international law and humanitarian norms that emphasize the necessity of protecting civilian infrastructure and keeping it neutral in conflicts and tensions.

The Council affirms its full support for the sisterly United Arab Emirates and its support for all legitimate measures taken by the UAE to preserve its national security, safeguard its Sovereignty, and ensure the safety of its territory and strategic facilities.

The Presidential Council calls upon the international community to reinforce efforts aimed at preserving regional security and stability, encouraging dialogue and reducing tensions, in addition to putting forth joint efforts to address the root causes of crises through peaceful as well as diplomatic means, in a manner that will contribute to consolidating security, coexistence, and constructive cooperation across the countries and people of the region.

In this context, the Presidential Council of the Government of Peace emphasizes the importance of prioritizing wisdom and reason, and resorting to constructive dialogue and diplomatic channels to address differences and tensions, thereby sparing the region the dangers of escalation and conflict, and, in turn, effectively promoting opportunities for peace, stability, and shared development.
