Tasis: We welcome “Banjul” and are willing to investigate violations

The Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis) welcomed the joint declaration issued by the Fact-Finding Mission of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights regarding the human rights situation in Sudan, affirming its unwavering support for justice, accountability, and combating impunity.

The Alliance’s Official Spokesperson, Ahmed Tugod Lissan, stated that (Tasis) is ready to fully cooperate with any international or regional fact-finding missions that aim to investigate violations of International Humanitarian Law and human rights.

The statement added that the Alliance “Places particular importance on the protection of civilians, the delivery of humanitarian assistance, and respect the principles of international law related to humanitarian access and civilian protection.” Nevertheless, the statement further noted that the Fact-Finding Mission’s declaration “fails to accurately reflect the reality on the ground.”

In conclusion, the Sudan Founding Alliance emphasized that addressing issues of justice and accountability requires careful investigation and thorough inquiry, leading to legal conclusions based on accurate information derived from reliable sources, calling on all parties to cooperate with international and regional investigative mechanisms.
