Prominent Islamist Leader Killed in DillingClashes

 Sources affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood reported today, Tuesday, the death of one of its prominent leaders, Arif Ahmed Adeel, known as “Sheikh Abu Tamer,” during clashes in the city of Dilling, South Kordofan state.

According to the sources, Adeel was killed whilst participating in the ongoing battles in the city, for he held a leadership position within “Al-Baraa Ibn Malik” Brigade and was considered a close associate of the Brigade’s Commander, known as “Almusbah.”

Adeel was a veteran fighter, having previously participated in the armed conflict in South Sudan, and according to the same sources, he accumulated combat experience abroad, including in Afghanistan, and had previously been involved with “Da’esh”.

Furthermore, the information provided indicated that the late Islamist leader specialized in operating drones and had received advanced training in Iran under the supervision of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Following the announcement of his death, figures associated with the Islamic Movement mourned Adeel’s death, describing his passing as a great loss. Moreover, amongst those who expressed such sentiments were journalists and former leaders in the group, including Hajj Majid Suwar, who described the incident as an “extremely demanding day.”
