A leader in the Islamic Movement incites the use of chemical weapons

Hajj Majid Suwar, a leader in the Muslim Brotherhood, a designated terrorist organization, called on the Commanders of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) to use “lethal force” against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to resolve what he described as a battle of dignity.

Suwar’s statements, posted on his Facebook account, came after the recent changes announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, which included the appointment of Yasser al-Atta as Chief of Staff.

Observers believe that such statements could potentially exacerbate tensions in Sudan, which has been experiencing ongoing conflict for months, amidst international concerns regarding further escalation and a worsening humanitarian situation.

Hence, regional as well as international parties are calling for restraint and adherence to International Humanitarian Law, warning against any use of prohibited weapons or escalation that could worsen the crisis.
