Hudson: SAF’s attack on Al-Daein Hospital was Deliberate and Premeditated

Recently, US diplomat Cameron Hudson stated that the attack on Al-Daein Teaching Hospital “was not an arbitrary act,” suggesting that it was deliberate and premeditated.

In a post on the (X) platform, Hudson explained that he has “no doubt” about the Sudanese Armed Forces’ responsibility for the attack, noting that available assessments reinforce the hypothesis of a deliberate targeting of the health facility.

Furthermore, the US diplomat added that current data clearly indicates that the attack is part of a broader pattern of targeting civilian objects, amidst escalating international controversy and accusations regarding violations related to the conflict in Sudan.

These statements come at a time when calls are growing from human rights organizations as well as international bodies for an independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances of the attack, emphasizing the need to protect health facilities and personnel, in accordance with the principles of International Humanitarian Law, and to hold those responsible for violations accountable.
