WFP: Imminent threat of famine in Sudan

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) stated that an additional (45 million people) are at risk of starvation if the escalation of violence in the Middle East continues and in turn, if disruptions to supply chains as well as markets persist.

On Thursday, the (WFP) explained that import-dependent countries will potentially be the first States affected, as Sudan imports (80%) of its wheat, in addition, any increase in the price of this staple source will -eventually- push more families further into a dire state of starvation.
