Tasis welcomes the conviction of Kushayband demands the prosecution of Al Bashir, Haroun, and Abdel Rahim Hussein

The Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis) welcomed the conviction of the criminal Ali Kushayb by the International Criminal Court (ICC), and demanded the extradition of the remaining defendants, most prominently of whom are the deposed president Omar Al-Bashir along with the Interior and Defense Ministers of Al-Bashir’s overthrown government, Ahmed Haroun and Abdel Rahim Mohammad Hussein. As they are wanted for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide in Darfur.
In a statement issued Monday, the Alliance welcomed the International Criminal Court’s ruling convicting the criminal Ali Kushayb of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during the war in Darfur, which erupted in (2003), sparked by the same regime that ignited the (April 15th, 2023) war. Furthermore, (Tasis) shared that the same regime fueled the war in South Sudan, tainted it with a false religious tinge, and ultimately led to the secession and fragmentation of the country. That, in addition to tainting the Darfur war with a racist tinge.
According to the Alliance’s statement, the apartheid regime along with its terrorist Army, which sparked -and continues to fuel- the April 15th war, in addition to thwarting the efforts put forth by all negotiating platforms rather promptly, ought to be confronted at the popular, regional, and international levels.
Hence, the Sudan Founding Alliance called on the regional and international community to work to ensure the extradition of the remaining individuals wanted by the International Criminal Court, as they are now protected by the Army of the former regime in areas under its control, disregarding the Sudanese revolution and the desires blatantly expressed by the public through the December 2018 revolution.
In its statement, the Alliance called for the inclusion of all individuals involved in the crime of using internationally prohibited chemical weapons within the context of the ongoing April war on international prosecution lists, as the use of chemical weapons, whether against civilians or military forces, is classified as a war crime under the (1993) Chemical Weapons Convention, the Geneva Conventions, and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
Furthermore, the statement shared that the aforementioned conventions criminalize the utilization of this deadly weapon, especially when used in populated areas or against protected persons.
The Founding Alliance commended the recent extension of the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission’s mandate for another year and called on its members to visit areas controlled by the Peace Government, declaring its unwavering intention to fully cooperation with the Mission to uncover the facts, urging the latter not to rely on reports submitted by impartial parties not present on the ground. Instead, (Tasis) called on the Fact-finding Mission to visit all regions in Sudan to obtain accurate information, as the truth is the first victim of war.
In conclusion, the Sudan Founding Alliance reiterated its commitment to achieving justice and respect for the law, affirming its continued efforts to liberate Sudan as well as the Sudanese people from the oppression and tyranny of jihadist terrorists, as the Sudanese public sought in the glorious December Revolution, for justice is without statute of limitations.
