The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemn the aerial attack carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), operating under the Islamic Movement militia, on a World Food Program (WFP) relief convoy consisting of 16 trucks. The attack resulted in the destruction of two trucks inside the premises of the Customs Authority in the city of Millet.
This treacherous act of aggression affected both Mellit city main market and the Customs authorities offices. Dozens were killed and many innocent civilians wounded.
The systematic aerial bombardment of civilians constitutes a full-fledged war crime. It epitomizes the terrorist practices of the SAF, controlled by the Islamic Movement in Sudan. SAF continues to obstruct the flow of humanitarian aid and repeatedly attack international organizations operating in the region. This is not the first crime recorded. On 3rd June 2025, SAF had targeted a relief convoy in the city of Kuma—in a deliberate attack and systematic campaign to obstruct the flow of humanitarian relief.
It has become evident that the terrorist army stands as the biggest obstacle to the delivery of humanitarian aid to millions in need across Darfur in the midst of dire conditions endured by civilians in both Darfur and Kordofan, due to the obstruction of aid access by SAF commanders.
In this regard, our forces call upon the international community, as well as the humanitarian and human rights organizations, to:
• issue a clear and unequivocal condemnation of this criminal attack.
• Open an urgent investigation to hold accountable those responsible for targeting relief convoys.
• Exercise pressure to put an end to the terrorist SAF’s attacks on humanitarian workers.
• The silence of the international community in the face of these crimes serves only to encourage the perpetrators to persist in killing civilians and threaten to undermine all humanitarian efforts aimed at saving what remains in this stricken region.
