In an exclusive interview on Sunday, the Rapid Support Forces’ Deputy Commander stated that the RSF offered the Armed Movements three options, all aimed at achieving stability, de-escalation, and preventing the ensuement of further clashes in El-Fasher. The aforementioned options included offering the position of commander of the military division in El-Fasher. According to the Deputy, “The Islamic Movement exerted an intense level of pressure on the Armed Movements, for they were to -either abandon neutrality or face expulsion from Port Sudan, which, effectively forced Jibril and Minnawi to declare their allegiance to the Sudanese Armed Forces.” He further indicated that Jibril and Minnawi’sMovements prioritized power and positions over the issues of liberation, freedom, and justice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abdel Rahim revealed that Shams el-Din Al-Kabbashi admitted to international mediators at the famous Manama meeting that the Islamic Movement controlled the Sudanese Army’s decisions. He noted that, “The Islamic Movement exerted significant pressure on Al-Kabbashi in an effort to prevent him from continuing what we started in Manama,” emphasizing that the Islamic Movement controls the decisions of both the Sudanese Army and the Armed Movements, effectively dictating the rejection of humanitarian ceasefires and peace initiatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second-in-command of the Rapid Support Forces reported that his forces managed to successfully evacuate thousands of innocent civilians from El-Fasher through humanitarian corridors that lasted for six months. He further shared that RSF Commanders publicized appeales to the civilians in three languages \u200b\u200band dialects, noting that military personnel affiliated with the Armed Movements and the Sudanese Army were released as part of these initiatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
