In an interview with (Sky News Arabia) on Sunday night, Osman asserted that Iranian drones have been \u201cthe most lethal weapon utilized against Sudanese civilians\u201d in the war that broke out more than three years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the Party\u2019s Political Secretary commented on Sky News Arabia\u2019s report about Iran supplying the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) with drones; by confirming the existence of \u201cclose relations\u201d between the two sides, stating that their cooperation emerged in the early weeks of the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He indicated that the Iranian drones were under the control of the Islamic Movement when arriving in Sudan at the early days of the war, before being deployed by the Sudanese Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe bore witness to the drones existence across Sudan. They were used to kill innocent civilians who could have managed to flee the clashes, but the drones tragically prevented them from doing so,\u201d according to Osman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He mentioned that \u201cGroups affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan oversee arms smuggling operations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In regards to the Sudanese dialogue, Sharif stressed the necessity of returning to the Quad initiative as a starting point for political dialogue between the warring parties, with the aim of ending the bloody conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He called on the international community to take a firmer stance against groups refusing to allow the war to come to an end, particularly by halting arms shipments to Sudan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In conclusion, the Political Secretary of the Sudanese Congress Party called for extending the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to encompass the entirety of the Sudanese territory -not just Darfur, and for extraditing those wanted by the Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
