The Government of Peace and Unity refuted the allegations made by Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and, in a press conference, addressed the misleading claims contained in the organization\u2019s report on sexual violence in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).<\/p>\n
The head of the National Humanitarian Access Authority in the Government of Peace and Unity, Ezz El-Din El-Safi, stated that MSF published a misleading report containing false and inaccurate information. He described the report as \u201cunusual\u201d in its timing and content, accusing the organization of rushing its publication in an effort to cover up the horrific massacre committed by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) at El-Daein Teaching Hospital in East Darfur. He further pointed out that the organization\u2019s annual report is published in May, which confirms that the aforementioned unusual behavior constitutes a systematic and hostile political act against the (RSF). In addition, he explained that the previous report was published concurrently with the imposition of sanctions on leaders in the (RSF), and another statement issued by the organization in (January 2026) coincided with the European Union imposing sanctions on military leaders. He concluded his remarks by stating that the latest report is a gift from the organization to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood Organization.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, El-Safi hinted that the report deliberately focused on the fact that the sexual assaults targeted specific tribes, refuting claims he described as misleading and inflammatory. He shared that the Doctors Without Borders report exposed the flaws of some organizations operating with political agendas.<\/p>\n
El-Safi went on to explain that he and the Minister of Health in the Government of Peace and Unity met with the organization\u2019s emergency director prior to the report\u2019s release. At the time, the emergency director provided a copy of the report, which prompted them -the head of the National Humanitarian Access Authority and Health Minister- to formally demand that the organization publish the Peace Government\u2019s response. He emphasized that the organization refused, stating, \u201cThe report is a political act and has no relation to humanitarian efforts, which is based on transparency and integrity.\u201d<\/p>\n
Methodological Errors<\/strong><\/p>\n For his part, Dr. Alaa El-Din Nugud, the Minister of Health in the Peace and Unity Government, stated that the report contained misleading and false information, in addition to methodological errors. He criticized the organization\u2019s assertion that sexual violence is a pervasive feature of the Sudanese war.<\/p>\n He added that according to the report, the information featured was obtained from health centers, which raises valid questions regarding the medical signs of sexual assault, and casts doubt on the report\u2019s integrity and accuracy. He pointed out that the report mentioned repeated assaults on victims, but lacked the medical facts and information that would medically confirm the occurrence of such heinous acts. He stated that the organization that issued the report is the same one responsible for operating the maternity ward at Nyala Teaching Hospital, hence, he posed the question: \u201cIf the report mentions more than 3,700 victims, and if only 10% of these victims who were subjected to sexual violence had pregnancies and gave birth to children of unknown parentage, where are these cases, given that the organization is responsible for the hospital\u2019s maternity ward?\u201d He indicated that the report contained methodological errors, noting that some victims are threatened into speaking to organizations, citing the case of the girl who exposed the truth in Al-Afad Camp. As he further explained that whilst the camp was said to house displaced persons from Darfur, on the contrary and according to the girl\u2019s statements; the displaced persons in the camp were from Omdurman, the Northern State, and other areas. Hence, the Minister of Health concluded: \u201cCamps like these are created by the Muslim Brotherhood for the sole purpose of producing such falsified reports.\u201d<\/p>\n He indicated that the report was portrayed in a racist light, and shared that the Rapid Support Forces include members and leaders from the tribes mentioned in the report, which logically refutes the report\u2019s accuracy.<\/p>\n Full details of the Press Conference are below:<\/strong><\/p>\n
