{"id":162798,"date":"2026-03-18T01:06:52","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T23:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/assayha.net\/en\/?p=162798"},"modified":"2026-03-18T01:06:52","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T23:06:52","slug":"the-derc-resumes-duties-as-washington-designates-the-mb-as-a-terrorist-organization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/assayha.net\/en\/162798\/","title":{"rendered":"The DERC resumes duties as Washington designates the MB as a Terrorist Organization"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"s4\">&nbsp;The Committee for Dismantling the June 30 1989 Regime, Removal of Empowerment and Corruption, and Recovering Public Funds (Dismantlement and Empowerment Removal Committee, DERC) announced the resumption of its duties, in a development that coincided -rather notably- with the US decision to designate the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan as a \u201cTerrorist Organization.\u201d Observers believe the aforementioned represents a sign of a new political phase where international pressure intersects with the demands of the Sudanese people.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"s4\">The Committee confirmed that it possesses detailed lists of the leaders and networks of the Islamic Movement as well as its economic assets, declaring the Committee\u2019s readiness for regional and international cooperation in an effort to recover funds and track assets \u201cwherever they may be.\u201d The DERC further believes that dismantling the empowerment of the regime is a prerequisite for ending the war that erupted in April 2013, which it accuses elements of the former regime of instigating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"s4\">Legal and diplomatic sources anticipate extensive actions in the coming period, including international arrest warrants and sanctions lists against political and military leaders linked to the organization.
