Amidst Calls for International Investigation into the Massacre<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday, residents of Katila locality in South Darfur state held a funeral procession for more than (100 civilians) killed in a drone strike launched by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to eyewitnesses, the funeral was attended by large numbers of citizens, along with Civil Administration officials, as the aforementioned civilian victims -approximately 100, the majority of whom were women, children, and the elderly, were laid to rest amidst an atmosphere that highlighted the residents\u2019 feelings grief and anger, for they condemned the targeting of civilian-populated areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Darfur Victims Support Organization (DVSO) issued a statement calling for an urgent investigation to be conducted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in an effort to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attack and hold the perpetrators accountable. Furthermore,  (DVSO) held the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and his regime fully responsible for this crime, emphasizing that the continued targeting of innocent civilians constitutes a flagrant violation of International Humanitarian Law and necessitates immediate international action to stop the repeated attacks on the people of Darfur.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
