Our friend from Omdurman, the daughter of Al Siraj, had married an Algerian man in the late nineties. They had a child and used to rent a house in Al-Thawra, on Al-Shanqiti Street. Her husband\u2019s older brother lived with them. And her Algerian husband used to teach \u2018Economics\u2019 at Omdurman Islamic University. For her husband and his brother, as well, were Islamists who had fled the oppression of the authorities in Algeria, and Sudan at the time was a refuge for Islamists fleeing the oppression of their governments: Tunisians, Egyptians, Libyans, Algerians, Yemenis\u2026etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the middle of a particularly dark night, a car took the Algerian man and his brother… and because the woman\u2019s father had connections within the government, he obtained information that the Security Service had arrested them and that they were safe. Two weeks later, at dawn, they were released and returned to collect their belongings, as the plane that would take them to Algeria was ready. Our friend insisted on accompanying her husband and went carrying her infant. She never set foot in Omdurman again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were Sudanese \u201cIslamist\u201d women from Al-Jazeera, Khartoum, and the Nile River region who had -rather suddenly- lost their Tunisian, Moroccan, and Yemeni husbands \u2014Islamists who had sought refuge in the \u201cPromised land.\u201d Planes were carrying them back, without family arrangements, and sometimes without even an opportunity to say goodbye… back to where they came from. Gaddafi executed the Libyans before they even reached Tripoli. Prisons overflowed with Islamists in Yemen, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, and elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the nineties drew to an end and we entered the second millennium, Salah Gosh, whilst puffing on his imported cigarettes, was concluding lucrative deals. As America\u2019s doom was nowhere in sight. Instead, it had become a destination, a target, a beloved. It was no longer the \u201cPlague,\u201d as Mahmoud Darwish once called it, nor was it the \u201cGreat Satan,\u201d as Imam Khomeini, had described it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, we will not move forward with you.\u201d The \u201cmini-state of Qatar,\u201d as usual, intervenes and fabricates the \u201cDoha Agreement for Peace in Darfur,\u201d which is signed by Dr. Tijani Al-Sisi, who has never held a gun and has never experienced the horrors of war in Darfur. Naturally, Doha failed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Al-Bashir\u2019s shameful plea to Vladimir Putin takes place (I want you to protect me from America). Good heavens!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
