The ongoing war, ignited by the Islamists in the country has yet to abate -in any way possible, nor has the sound of cannons and bullets subsided. This was the war they unequivocally desired, a war that plunged the entire population into a raging inferno. For in the areas of operation, killing, displacement, and forced migration are rampant, whilst in areas untouched by the clashes; disease, hunger, soaring prices, and poverty prevail. Meanwhile, those profiting from this war and their families enjoy security and prosperity, living in capitals and cities that provide them with the highest levels of education, healthcare, and a comfortable standard of living, far removed from the flames of the war into which they callously dragged the people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the war’s protracted nature, the truth about it and those responsible for igniting it are being uncovered on a daily basis. As Taha Othman Ishaq, a member of the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC), published documents refuting the Islamists’ claims about the Framework Agreement being the direct cause of the ongoing war. He exposed Al-Burhan’s involvement in stalling and refusing to implement the Framework Agreement, which could have saved the country from descending into this hell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amidst these developments, information indicated that Al-Burhan presented new conditions to the Quad Delegation, including the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cb Setting the Transitional Period to be six years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cb Sealing -agreeing not to open- the files related to the empowerment of the former regime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cb Sealing -agreeing not to reconsider- the cases of the former regime cadres’ trials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cb Sealing -agreeing not to revisit- the International Criminal Court file. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, they demanded these files be considered only under an elected government. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Naturally, the aforementioned conditions clearly expose the Islamists’ fabrications and reveal the truth about their schemes to ignite war. For these are precisely their demands and the main reasons behind their efforts to instigate the war across the country. Which, in turn, confirms a fundamental truth: The Islamists (Al-Kizan) have long realized the impossibility of achieving a military victory and no longer oppose a ceasefire, but only on conditions that guarantee impunity for their actions and prevent them from being held accountable for what has transpired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, they could potentially be aiming to evade responsibility for the catastrophe and participate in post-war arrangements, or to extend their control for another six years without a popular mandate, relying solely on the “legitimacy of war,” as if 36 years of rule were not enough for them and they still crave more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another detail in regards to the recent period might explain the Islamists’ willingness to consider accepting an end to the war is the failure of the mobilization campaign that followed the fall of El Fasher, as the latter was met with widespread popular rejection. The Sudanese people completely ignored it, in a clear expression of their rejection of the continuation of the war and their serious desire to end it. That campaign aimed to cover up the violations committed in El Fasher, which proved once again that civilians are the first and last victims of this war. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This failure is reinforced by what took place in the battles of North Kordofan, led by the (Sudan Shield Forces), which suffered heavy losses, and whose Commander, Abuagla Keikal, was wounded amidst strict secrecy about his condition. These battles and their continuation once again demonstrate the undeniable truth; that the continuation of the war is utterly futile and pointless. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
