The Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis) announced the suspension of all forms of media cooperation and engagement with (Al-Jazeera), its pages, and its website on social media platforms.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued today, Monday, the Alliance attributed the decision to suspend all forms of interaction with (Al-Jazeera) to what it called the channel’s blatant bias in media coverage in favor of the Islamic Movement, its Army and militias, in addition to the accompanying breach of the standards of professionalism and objectivity that the channel is supposed to adhere to in its coverage of Sudanese affairs.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, (Tasis) shared that it had observed, over the past period, that the channel’s editorial policy is consistent with an agenda biased towards the Islamic Movement and its militias. As a number of its programs, particularly “Sudan Window,” had become a platform for promoting inaccurate as well as misleading news and information, targeting the Sudan Founding Alliance along with its forces.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the channel’s daily reports, which were generally characterized by a lack of credibility and objectivity, contributed to distorting facts and misleadingly directing public opinion.<\/p>\n
The Sudan Founding Alliance went on to emphasize, in its statement, that the channel’s bias was evident even in the program “Diwan of Sudan” \u2014which was supposed to be a social program, hosting Sudanese who called for an end to the war and presented the facts. Unfortunately, however, this particular program continued to host individuals bias towards and aligned with the Islamist Army and its brigades, moreover, it even hosted some of the executive leaders in their alleged government on a social program, broadcasting false reports to mislead the Sudanese as well as the regional regional public opinion in regards to the situation in Sudan.<\/p>\n
The Alliance emphasized the blatant bias displayed by the channel’s program presenters, the manner in which they asked veiled questions, compound with the lack of equitable airtime to properly convey the Sudan Founding Alliance’s point of view, reflects an unfair editorial approach aimed at weakening Tasis’s arguments and diminishing its positions.<\/p>\n
The Founding Alliance expressed regret about the evident bias reflected in Al-Jazeera’s output in regards to the massacres perpetrated by the Islamist Army and its allied militias against innocent, unarmed civilians who didn’t choose to fight a war, as if the Sudanese citizens were not equal throughout Sudan.<\/p>\n
In conclusion, (Tasis) shared that, based on the aforementioned facts, it has decided to suspend its media engagement with (Al-Jazeera) and its social media platforms until the channel takes the initiative to review its editorial approach, to ensure its commitment to professional standards and complete neutrality, and that it strives to maintain an equal distance from all parties without discrimination or bias.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
