Statement of Condemnation regarding the Terrorist Aerial Attacks on Unarmed Civilians in West and North Darfur<\/strong><\/p>\n

In continuation of their heinous crimes against unarmed civilians, terrorist aircraft, deployed under the directives issued by the leaders of the criminal Islamic Movement’s Army and the Port Sudan group, to launch a new series of drone attacks today, Sunday, targeting innocent civilians in the city of El-Geneina, West Darfur. Furthermore, the attacks targeted -once again- the area of Al-Zurruq as well as the market of Saraf Omra in North Darfur state, wounding and claiming the lives of dozens of unarmed civilians, most of whom were women and children.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the Government of Peace condemns in the strongest terms such blatantly grave violations and the targeting of civilians through drone attacks on populated areas, markets, and civilian facilities. Moreover, the Government of Peace reiterates that these relentless attacks are carried out under the direct orders of the leaders of the terrorist Islamic Movement. As the repeated hostilities that took place during this month -October- resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries in barbaric scenes that constitute full-fledged crimes of genocide, carried out rather selectively against civil and societal components in the regions of Darfur and Kordofan.<\/p>\n

We, in the Government of Peace call on the international community, regional organizations, and human rights bodies as well -once again- to condemn these heinous crimes and to take immediate action to halt the incessant attacks on populated areas devoid of any military presence, as this constitutes a flagrant violation of International Law and the Geneva Conventions.<\/p>\n

We affirm that we will not remain silent in the face of such grave violations against civilians. We will put forth diligent efforts to prosecute the criminals legally and continue to advance until terrorism and terrorists are eradicated, heralding a new era of stability and peace.<\/p>\n
