The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the de facto authority in Port Sudan, Mohieddin Salem, acknowledged the support of Egypt and other countries -he failed to name- for the Sudanese Islamic Movement militias in their quest to prolong the war in Sudan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Salem shared in a press statement following a meeting between the Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-A’tti and Al-Burhan: “Our message to the fighters on the ground is; you are not alone. Many of your brothers -most prominently of whom are our brothers in Egypt; support you. Therefore, continue to step forward with unlimited support from Egypt and other countries.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He commended the significant collaboration between Egypt, the Islamic Movement militias, and the Port Sudan Authority in their efforts to prolong the war, adding that the de facto authority has obligated all institutions to fulfill their roles in the war. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the statement of the Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-A’tti contradicted the aforementioned statement issued by his counterpart in the Port Sudan Authority, as the former emphasized that the meeting addressed Egypt’s efforts to end the war in Sudan through all available international frameworks, including the Quartet International Mechanism, to reach a humanitarian truce that would facilitate an immediate ceasefire in addition to the launch of a political process leading to a Sudanese-Sudanese consensus and the establishment of a new Sudan characterized by security, stability, and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the Egyptian Foreign Minister’s statement, terrorist groups in Sudan, represented by the Islamic Movement and its militias, began threatening Egypt and raising “Rabaa al-Adawiya'” sign, in a clear attempt to provoke the Egyptian government and its people as well as remind them of the actions of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
