Yasser Arman, head of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – Revolutionary Democratic Current, accused the Sudanese Military Intelligence of being responsible for the killing of activist Khaled Al-Zubair, one of the founders of the Emergency Rooms in Omdurman, whilst the latter was in detention for about a year and nine months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arman described the incident as a “War crime and a crime against humanity that has no statute of limitations,” emphasizing that it is part of a series of systematic violations against the Sudanese people as well as the homeland. He demanded urgent clarification from the Military Intelligence regarding the circumstances of the crime, warning that official silence is only serving to exacerbate popular outrage and deepen the sense of injustice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The head of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – Revolutionary Democratic Current added that what took place reflects an oppressive approach targeting activists and revolutionaries, which necessities a national response to hold the perpetrators accountable and end impunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arman’s remarks followed a statement issued by the Khartoum State Resistance Committees, which condemned Al-Zubair’s assassination in detention and considered it a new addition to the record of gross violations committed by the Security Service. The statement warned that the continuation of such practices undermines any path towards justice and the rule of law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
