{"id":161707,"date":"2025-07-12T13:53:53","date_gmt":"2025-07-12T11:53:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/assayha.net\/en\/?p=161707"},"modified":"2025-07-12T15:30:20","modified_gmt":"2025-07-12T13:30:20","slug":"controversy-in-sudan-incited-by-appointing-al-bashirs-lawyer-as-al-burhans-minister-of-justice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/assayha.net\/en\/161707\/","title":{"rendered":"Controversy in Sudan incited by appointing Al Bashir&#8217;s lawyer as Al Burhan&#8217;s Minister of Justice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"s9\">Kamil Idris, the Prime Minister appointed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has added five new ministers to Al-Burhan&#8217;s Port Sudan Authority, bringing the total number of appointments to (10) ministers out of (22) ministerial portfolios since Kamil&#8217;s appointment last May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"s9\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"s9\">However, the appointment of Abdullah&nbsp;Darf&nbsp;as Minister of Justice in the Port Sudan Authority sparked widespread controversy, given that he was a leader in the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) during the era of ousted President Omar Al-Bashir. He was also a member of the defense team for Al-Bashir and other figures from the former Islamist-dominated regime during their trial in (2019).
