Recently, political, human rights, and community groups have expressed condemnation of the so-called Khartoum state authorities’ activities in Al-Khairat area, East of the Nile (Sharg Alneel), as the authorities demolished dozens of citizens’ homes, for reasons of ethnic and regional affiliation.<\/p>\n
Activists circulated videos and photos documenting the forcible removal of citizens’ homes, the demolition of some, and the burning of others, in addition to the displacement of citizens under threat.<\/p>\n
For its part, the Sudanese Congress Party (SCoP) stated that the Khartoum state government body demolished the homes of citizens in Al-Khairat village in Sharg Alneel locality without prior warning, leaving them homeless and without support.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the Party added that the government is preparing to demolish the only school and water well in the area.<\/p>\n
As the SCoP’s statements indicated, this particular development exposes the systematic intent to uproot the residents, dismantle their local community, and deprive them of their most basic rights to education and potable water.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
