The World Health Organization (WHO) has provided information regarding the spread of Cholera in Sudan, reporting that approximately (60,000 cases) were documented, resulting in more than (1,640) deaths, warning of the consequences of the imminent collapse of the health system in Sudan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, the World Health Organization shared that the complex humanitarian situation in Sudan, exacerbated by attacks on health facilities, continues to hinder vital health interventions, including responses to Cholera, Measles, and malnutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Organization confirmed that it faces numerous operational challenges when it comes to providing the appropriate response to the aforementioned crises, including the most recent -worsening- funding gap, which is forcing a significant number of its partners to suspend their operations and -in turn- hampers the response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sudanese media outlets are consistently reporting about a serious epidemic that has claimed the lives of thousands, likely due to the use of internationally prohibited chemical weapons and toxic gases, in addition to the explosion of chemical materials in a warehouse belonging to Al-Bara Ibn Malik Brigade at the University of Khartoum’s Faculty of Education building in Omdurman last week.
