On Thursday, a group of Rapid Support Forces’ fighters released a video from the Center of the city of En-Nahud in West Kordofan state, announcing that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took complete control of the strategic city of En-Nahud, western Sudan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the morning, fierce battles has been raging between the Rapid Support Forces and the militias of the Muslim Brotherhood’s remnants, the Popular Defense Forces, and the Mobilized fighters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Military sources told (Assayha) that Rapid Support Forces’ units infiltrated the advanced defenses and took control of the local government headquarters in En-Nahud, controlling the city from all sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sources added that “On the outskirts of the city, the battles are still ongoing, with some militants who fled the field.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Video clips broadcast by (RSF) members outside the local government headquarters documented them confirming they assumed control of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to sources within the Rapid Support Forces, they held extended contacts with the leaders of the Civil Administration to withdraw the Army forces and their affiliated militias from the city in an effort to avoid clashes within the residential areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sources also confirmed that members of the Islamist brigades’ leadership had begun arming large groups of civilians to confront the heavily armed Rapid Support Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
En-Nahud was the last area controlled by the Sudanese Army, after all other localities fell under the Rapid Support Forces’ control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Naturally, assuming control of this city foils the Sudanese Army\u2019s plan of advancement, as the latter were preparing to break the siege of El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, imposed by the Rapid Support Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Youssef Awad, the head of the Civil Administration affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces, had previously appealed to all citizens in En-Nahud not to join the ranks of the terrorist brigades and militias of the Islamic Movement, rather, to remain in their homes and avoid approaching the areas of conflict for their own safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Awad confirmed, according to media reports, that their forces are capable of protecting citizens -after the city’s liberation- and providing all services to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rapid Support Forces immediately announced the deployment of specialized military units to protect civilians and institutions in the city of En-Nahud from any attempts by the Sudanese Army and its affiliated militias to damage public and private property.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
