The civilians in question, unable to flee the war due to their financial circumstances, are now facing the triple threat of famine, thirst, and disease, amidst widespread destruction and unprecedented humanitarian suffering.<\/p>\n
The humanitarian appeal, which was widely circulated on social media, stated that these citizens “Didn’t leave the capital -not- because they wanted to stay, but because they simply couldn’t evacuate, and now they are unjustly viewed as suspects or collaborators merely for residing in conflict zones.” The appeal considered this group of citizens “The most loyal to the nation” and they’re now paying the price of the war alone.<\/p>\n
The appeal called on all Nubians abroad to take urgent action and consult with decision-makers in order to facilitate the establishment of humanitarian charitable kitchens (Takaya) in Omdurman and other affected areas, providing daily meals or distributing life-saving food and relief supplies. It also highlighted the need to open official bank accounts to receive donations and to seek support from all conscientious individuals.<\/p>\n
The organizers of the humanitarian appeal emphasized that the lack of water currently poses the greatest threat to the lives of thousands of families. They emphasized the importance of the media and international organizations in intervening, creating safe corridors to facilitate evacuation operations, and providing basic humanitarian assistance.<\/p>\n
