The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced the deployment of military units to the Zamzam Camp for internally displaced persons in North Darfur state after successfully liberating the camp from the control of the terrorist Islamic Movement and Armed Movements, as both had been using civilians as human shields and the camp as military barracks.<\/p>\n
A statement issued by the official spokesperson for the Rapid Support Forces shared that the deployment of military units was intended to secure civilians as well as humanitarian medical workers. The statement emphasized the Rapid Support Forces’ categorical rejection of false allegations claiming that its members had targeted civilians within Zamzam Camp.<\/p>\n
The statement called for accuracy and reliability in reporting and assessment of events, noting that the so-called ‘Joint Force’ and elements of affiliated mercenary movements have continued to use Zamzam Camp as a military base, deliberately exploiting innocent civilians as human shields, in a clear and blatant violation of International Humanitarian Law. Despite the aforementioned reality, the Rapid Support Forces were able to secure civilians during the liberation operation and prevent them from being harmed.<\/p>\n
In their statement, the Rapid Support Forces explained that certain parties have been actively spreading falsehoods and slander as part of a coordinated media campaign orchestrated by the co-opted army by Islamic Movement which aims at distorting the image of the Rapid Support Forces and undermine its reputation before the Sudanese public, as well as regional and international communities.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the statement noted that the Sudan Founding Alliance Forces conducted organized, voluntary evacuations of a large number of families from the city of El-Fasher and the surrounding camps to safer and more stable areas, ensuring the protection of civilians, as the Alliance provided essential shelter and security in coordination with humanitarian organizations. The Rapid Support Forces statement welcomed all relief organizations and agencies that have previously expressed their willingness to respond immediately to the dire humanitarian needs of those fleeing the conflict, reiterating the Forces’ full commitment to adhere to the International Humanitarian Law and their firm dedication to protecting civilians and avoiding any actions that could impact civil infrastructure, including health centers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
