A statement by the Political Secretary of the opposition Beja Congress, Abdelrahman Shanqab, shared that the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) launched an airstrike on Monday targeting the Tura market in North Darfur, which resulted in dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries, according to a preliminary toll.<\/p>\n
Shanqab added that the aforementioned crime, which occurred while residents were shopping in the area, represents a flagrant violation of International Humanitarian Law and a full-fledged war crime. The Congress called on the international community and human rights organizations to launch an immediate investigation and document this horrendous crime, stating that the continuation of this arbitrary war constitutes a major crime against the Sudanese people, who are currently paying the price for the destabilization of their security and stability.<\/p>\n
In his statement, Shanqab stressed that a comprehensive peaceful solution is the only way to end this disaster, calling on humanitarian and relief organizations to quickly intervene to rescue the wounded and provide the necessary assistance to those affected.<\/p>\n
