The Sudanese Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (SEDC) shared in a press release on Monday that it had taken this step as part of the process of developing the network and improving the services provided to citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“In light of the current economic challenges facing the electricity sector, along with the significant increase in the cost of production inputs and the scarcity of foreign currency necessary to provide spare parts and maintenance,” according to (SEDC). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The eastern states of Sudan are also experiencing widespread power outages, disrupting the operation of markets, hospitals, service centers, and water supply.
