He described these conditions as \u201cThe worst humanitarian crisis in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a tweet published by the African Union (AU) on the (X) platform on Tuesday, Ibn Chambas indicated the particular suffering experienced by children, the elderly and women, as a result of widespread violations and the lack of health care.<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman of the High Level Panel also noted that external interference has contributed to prolonging the conflict, which has hindered the implementation of the African Union\u2019s main roadmap for practical measures to eliminate military operations in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that, \u201cThe military solution is not the appropriate option, as political dialogue between the Sudanese parties is the only way to end this war, to restore security and stability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that the efforts put forth by the African Union to address the crisis in Sudan are based on a roadmap that adopts a purely Sudanese solution based on dialogue, while emphasizing the principles of inclusiveness, reconciliation, neutrality of mediators and transparency.<\/p>\n<p>Ibn Chambas emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination and integration between all partners, noting that effective cooperation between the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the African Union is one of the best practices in this context.<\/p>\n<p>He reiterated the African Union&#8217;s commitment to providing the necessary support to reach a comprehensive political solution calling on all Sudanese parties to participate, without entertaining the military options that increase the suffering of the people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chairman of the African Union High Level Panel on Sudan (HLP-Sudan), Mohamed Ibn Chambas, stated that the ongoing armed conflict in the country has seriously exacerbated the deteriorating humanitarian situation, disrupting the delivery of humanitarian aid, exacerbating food shortages and famine among civilians.
