The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) condemned the use of chemical weapons by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in the war in Sudan, Additionally, the Intergovernmental Authority strongly condemned -while expressing concern- over reports of killings and the commission of widespread human rights violations against civilians in Al-Jazeera state as well as other regions in Sudan; carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).<\/p>\n
Djibouti, the current chair of (IGAD) in a statement published on the official website, shared that it \u201cUnequivocally condemns these actions, and urges accountability by bringing those responsible to justice and ensuring the protection of civilian rights.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement emphasized the need to prevent further escalation of the Sudanese crisis and its potential impact on neighboring countries.<\/p>\n
The current chair of (IGAD) called on all parties to exercise restraint and prioritize de-escalation efforts in order to guarantee an urgent end to the conflict in Sudan through inclusive dialogue that safeguards the unity, security and stability of the State.<\/p>\n
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) committed serious violations against citizens of Al-Jazeera state. And according to the contents of video clips that documented the atrocities committed by the Sudanese Army in Al-Jazeera state, south of the capital, Khartoum; the aforementioned violations included -but weren’t limited to- slaughter, as citizens were slaughtered and thrown into the Nile waters, in addition, others were shot to death.<\/p>\n
