Member of the Rapid Support Forces negotiating delegation, Ezz El-Din Al-Safi, stated that the sanctions imposed by the United States against the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, represent an unfortunate obstacle to achieving peace and stability in Sudan.<\/p>\n

Al-Safi shared in a tweet on his personal account on the (X) platform that the ramifications of the sanctions will extend to threaten regional security as a whole.<\/p>\n

He described latest development as \u201can irrational decision,\u201d noting that the sanctions reflect the failure of US foreign policy to direct local policy in the countries in which it intervenes.<\/p>\n

He stressed that this failure is evident through the weak role played by Washington in mediating to end the ongoing war in Sudan, a pattern that is habitually repeated in the Middle East and Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe myth, long adopted by the United States in regards to its exceptional superiority has clearly declined, as its foreign policy is no longer able to navigate the course of geopolitics,\u201d according to Al-Safi.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that the recent decision to impose sanctions against the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces has frustrated a large segment of the Sudanese people, however, Ezz El-Din went on to emphasize that the Sudanese will continue to strive to end the war and build a prosperous and stable democratic State.<\/p>\n

Al-Safi added: \u201cAt a time when the country needs actual efforts to achieve peace, such decisions exacerbate the suffering, which -in turn- weakens hopes for an urgent solution to the Sudanese crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
