Arno <\/span><\/span>Ngutulu<\/span><\/span> Lodi, first secretary of the New Sudan Civil Authority in areas controlled by Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement\u2013North, under the leadership of Abdelaziz Al-Hilu, reiterated the Movement’s commitment to delivering and allowing passage of humanitarian aid to all those affected in the country.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

During the Christmas celebration organized by the Sudanese community in the Republic of South Sudan the day before yesterday, Arno <\/span><\/span>Ngutulu<\/span><\/span> Lodi stated that the New Sudan Civil Authority in the liberated areas courageously declared famine in areas controlled by the (SPLM-N), while the Port Sudan government maintained its denial of the existence of famine in Sudan.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Movement’s website, <\/span><\/span>Ngutulu<\/span><\/span>went on to add: \u201cWe agreed to transfer aid from Juba to the cities of (Kadugli) and (<\/span><\/span>Juld<\/span><\/span>) in the Nuba Mountains. We have -already- started and the aid transfer operations are still ongoing.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cHowever, rather unfortunately, while the Movement was busy with aid provision, protection, in addition to ensuring its arrival to citizens in areas controlled by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), the Army deliberately attacked (Abu <\/span><\/span>Saiba<\/span><\/span>) area in the Nuba Mountains, near (Dilling) on Tuesday, December 24<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The first secretary explained that the Sudanese Army also bombed a number of areas in the (New <\/span><\/span>Funj<\/span><\/span>) region, which resulted in the death of a number of <\/span><\/span>citizens, among whom was the director of the World Food <\/span><\/span>Programme<\/span><\/span> (WFP) in the region, an employee, and a security guard.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Arno shared that the situation in Sudan has become unbearable, adding: \u201cCurrently there is no State in Sudan, and all options are open. We are strong and fully capable of achieving what we put our minds to.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
