In an unexpected development that may highlight the deterioration of relations within the ranks of the forces allied with the Sudanese Army Commander-in-Chief Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the well-known preacher in the Islamic Movement, Abdul-Hayy Youssef, launched a serious attack on Al-Burhan, calling him \u201can irreligious traitor,\u201d holding him responsible for the ongoing war in Sudan. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Despite Al-Burhan\u2019s continued denial of the presence of Islamic forces among the fighters supporting him, Abdul-Hayy Youssef confirmed in a video that has been widely circulated on social media that the \u201cPopular Resistance\u201d supporting the Sudanese Army in its war against the Rapid Support Forces consists of tens of thousands of members of the Islamic Movement who have been trained in recent years.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Youssef explained that members of the Islamic Movements that emerged in the nineties are responsible for training the aforementioned tens of thousands of individuals. He stressed that the Islamic Movements are responsible for achieving the recent victories over the Rapid Support Forces, not the Army Forces.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Has the Islamic wing deeply <\/span><\/span>infiltrate<\/span><\/span> the Sudanese Army?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Observers believe that the statements Youssef made blatantly shows that the Islamist current in the Sudanese Army has become in control of the situation, which constitutes a clear threat to Al-Burhan, conveying that the Islamists are the true rulers of the Sudanese Army, or at least that the Islamist wing has become <\/span><\/span>stronger than Al-Burhan\u2019s fighters who perform duties under the banner of the Sudanese Army.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Observers also believe that the conflicts that have begun to emerge between Al-Burhan and the \u201cMuslim Brotherhood\u201d confirm that Sudan bears the consequences of the exploitation of Al-Burhan\u2019s Army and the Islamists. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Youssef stated: \u201cAl-Burhan doesn’t possess a respectable personality that invites others want to deal with him, and therefore the Turks as well as others have abandoned the concept of engaging with him.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He pointed out that Al-Burhan \u201cdoesn’t fulfill contracts or agreements,\u201d and went on to add: \u201cThe Islamic Movement doesn’t trust Al-Burhan at all, as he is irreligious, and bears the lion\u2019s share of responsibility for the ongoing crisis.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In statements that rather confirm the accusations regarding the presence of Islamists amidst the environment that constitutes Al-Burhan\u2019s military base, Youssef stated that \u201cAl-Burhan is incapable of eliminating the Islamists because they are present even in his office.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sources confirm that what Youssef was indicating in regards to the presence of Islamists in Al-Burhan\u2019s office reveals the true extent of the Islamist Movement and the Muslim Brotherhood’s infiltration into the Sudanese Army. It seems that these forces that have controlled the Army for a long time, and are the ones to prevent its collapse thus far, which is a fact Al-Burhan and his government have always denied.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It seems that the relationship between the Army Commander-in-chief and the Islamists has begun to deteriorate, as Youssef’s statements against Al-Burhan indicate.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Since April 2023, Sudan has been witnessing an armed conflict between the Sudanese Army led by Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan <\/span><\/span>Daglo<\/span><\/span>, which has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and displaced more than (11) million people. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
