{"id":160122,"date":"2024-11-18T09:19:53","date_gmt":"2024-11-18T07:19:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/assayha.net\/en\/?p=160122"},"modified":"2024-11-18T09:19:53","modified_gmt":"2024-11-18T07:19:53","slug":"rsf-our-forces-were-infected-with-cholera-in-al-hilaliya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/assayha.net\/en\/160122\/","title":{"rendered":"RSF: Our forces were infected with Cholera in Al Hilaliya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Advisor to the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Ayoub Nahar, revealed that a number of their forces were infected with watery diarrhea as a result of the deteriorating health conditions in Al-Hilaliya, east of Al-Jazeera, indicating that their forces were innocent of causing the poisoning incidents in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Nahar explained that the Rapid Support Forces deployed humanitarian and medical convoys to Al-Hilaliya in an attempt to control the situation and alleviate the citizens&#8217; suffering. He unequivocally denied any responsibility of their forces for the crisis, noting that the accusations directed at them lack any shred of evidence.<\/p>\n<p>The Advisor to the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces explained that the United Nations organizations attributed the situation in Al-Hilaliya to the spread of Cholera, and pointed out that this disease is linked to the deterioration of the environment and the collapse of health services. He held the Port Sudan government fully responsible for imposing an unjust siege on Al-Jazeera state, which has exacerbated the deteriorating health conditions and prevented the arrival of humanitarian aid.<\/p>\n<p>Ayoub Nahar added: &#8220;The Islamic Movement leading this war is working to mislead the public opinion by accusing us of putting toxic substances in drinking water.&#8221; He went on to explain: \u201cWhen it became clear the poisoning cases were linked to food conditions, we were accused -yet again- without providing any evidence to support such accusations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Port Sudan government explicitly announced through the Humanitarian Aid Commission that it wouldn&#8217;t allow aid to enter the states of Al-Jazeera and Sennar, calling on citizens to head to areas under the control of the Army to obtain services\u201d according to Nahar.<\/p>\n<p>The Advisor to the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces urged to pressure the government to allow the entry of humanitarian aid, stressing the necessity of enabling the international organizations to reach those affected.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cWe are well aware that the Islamic Movement and the National Congress Party aren&#8217;t concerned in the least about the suffering of the Sudanese people, but we must continue to provide assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Advisor to the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Ayoub Nahar, revealed that a number of their forces were infected with watery diarrhea as a result of the deteriorating health conditions in Al-Hilaliya, east of Al-Jazeera, indicating that their forces were innocent of causing the poisoning incidents in the region.
