The medical staff at El-Obeid Hospital went on a strike, which further exacerbated patients’ suffering in North Kordofan, amidst significant disruption in medicine prices in private health centers.<\/p>\n
Medical sources in El-Obeid told (Darfur 24) that the medical staff “went on strike and stopped working for nearly a month because of financial dues, which forced the health authorities to close the hospital.”<\/p>\n
Citizens in El-Obeid shared that the teaching hospital being out of service exacerbated the suffering of patients who used to visit the hospital’s medical departments, especially those traveling from other localities in North Kordofan state.<\/p>\n
Haitham Ibrahim Yahya, one of the patients’ relatives, told (Darfur 24) that patients and their relatives are suffering from the closure of the teaching hospital due to the high price of medicines, especially intravenous solutions, at private health centers and clinics, at a time when citizens are going through difficult economic conditions.<\/p>\n
Yahya pointed out that the city is witnessing an unprecedented level of disruption in medicine prices due to the closure of the teaching hospital, in light of the increasing number of Malaria, diarrhea and Dengue Fever cases. Yahya called on the competent relevant authorities to put forth efforts, find urgent solutions to the medical staff’s strike at the teaching hospital and end the patients’ suffering.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
