The Committee indicated in a press statement on Friday that the conditions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have deteriorated considerably under the control of Islamists.<\/p>\n
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Resistance Committee issued its statement on the occasion of the third anniversary of the position adopted by ambassadors and diplomats who announced their rejection of the October 25th, 2021 Coup against the civilian government, considering this anniversary \u201cglorious and dated in letters of light\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Committee expressed its deep regret over the Ministry’s current situation, referring to what it called \u201cThe comprehensive control by Islamists and dark forces\u201d that reduced the Ministry to a mere tool for suppressing and persecuting opponents abroad.<\/p>\n
The Committee stated that these forces weren’t satisfied with pursuing Sudanese abroad and preventing them from attaining their constitutional rights to obtain and renew documents through embassies, but the pursuits extended to include employees within the Ministry, including ambassadors, diplomats and administrators, which forced some of them to choose exile after being threatened or dismissed.<\/p>\n
The statement added that the Ministry had lost its primary role after its involvement in the April 15th war, as it became \u201cA spokesperson for the Army and an original party to the conflict,\u201d which caused it to lose its diplomatic role in communicating with the international community.<\/p>\n
The Committee called, through its statement, on the international community to refrain from dealing with the Ministry in this \u201cdark era,\u201d and urged the honorable employees of the Ministry to form an entity that resists the war and puts forth efforts to end the coup and restore the democratic civil path.<\/p>\n
On October 25th, 2021, the Sudanese Army carried out a military coup that overthrew the civilian partnership government formed after the December 2018 revolution. The Commander-in-chief of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, dissolved the Council of Ministers and suspended the institutions of the transitional government, which led to an escalation of tensions in the country.<\/p>\n
The coup sparked angry local and international reactions, as numerous countries and humanitarian organizations considered the move a violation of the gains of the Sudanese revolution, blatantly restoring the military rule.<\/p>\n
Since April 15th, 2023, Sudan has witnessed violent fighting between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces, which began in Khartoum and extended to large areas of Darfur, Kordofan, Al-Jazeera and Sennar, leading to catastrophic humanitarian crises.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
