The Sudanese Army Brigadier General, Omar Hamdan Al-Basha, announced his joining the Rapid Support Forces, stating that the Army is hijacked by the “National Congress Party” and no longer represents the Sudanese people.<\/p>\n

In his statement regarding joining the Rapid Support Forces, Al-Basha shared that the “National Congress Party” fully controls the leadership of the Army as well as the enrollment of officers in the Military Academy.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThe Army has been hijacked by Islamists, and is preoccupied with investment and trade, deviating from its fundamental tasks stipulated in the Armed Forces Law.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brig. Gen. Omar Hamdan Al-Basha, stressed that the collapse of the Army can be attributed to a structural defect in the function of the Armed Forces and its tasks stipulated in the Armed Forces Law, as a result of what he described as the Islamists\u2019 control of the Army through Senior Commanders.<\/p>\n

Al-Basha called on the honorable members of the Armed Forces to join the Rapid Support Forces, which he referred to as the National Forces that represent all regions of Sudan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
