The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate stated that a journalist in Port Sudan was attacked by unknown armed assailants affiliated with the Justice and Equality Movement “JEM” led by the Sudanese Finance Minister Gibril Ibrahim.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the Syndicate shared: \u201con Sunday, journalist Azza Aer was attacked by three armed assailants affiliated with the Justice and Equality Movement (led by Gibril Ibrahim) in front of the Social Insurance Tower in the (interim capital) of Port Sudan.”<\/p>\n

The statement indicated that the armed assailants attacked journalist Azza Aer both verbally and physically, \u201cUnder the pretext of standing in the street, and quickly took the keys to her car by force, before entering the vehicle, to terrorize and intimidate her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate announced its utter rejection of what it described as \u201cA horrific form of violation against male and female journalists\u201d and demanded that the perpetrators of this act be uncovered and brought to justice immediately.<\/p>\n

The Syndicate warned the Armed Movements against unleashing their members against journalists in particular and defenseless citizens in general.<\/p>\n

In their statement, the Sudanese Journalists Syndicate confirmed that some parties were seeking to impose the law of the jungle by exploiting the current war conditions in the country, and added: \u201cIt will not work, and even if it takes a long time, there must be a reckoning.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Syndicate also affirmed that they \u201cWill not abandon their duties towards members inside and outside of the country, and they won’t hesitate to provide all forms of support, advocacy and legal aid to them.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
