Various neighborhoods in the east and south of Khartoum region witnessed the return of hundreds of displaced Sudanese families in a number of states, coinciding with the resumption of negotiations between the Armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces in Jeddah.<\/p>\n
The returnees demanded the\u00a0 Armed Forces’ cessation of the indiscriminate bombing of citizens\u2019 homes. Izz El-Deen Al-Tayeb, a returnee citizen to his home in the Arkawit suburb, stated that the Army\u2019s indiscriminate bombing caused the destruction of hundreds of homes in the area.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that the area now lacks electricity and water services, urging the Rapid Support Forces to speed up the repairs of the electricity and water networks due to its control over the entirety of Khartoum.<\/p>\n
He continued, \u201cWe call on the Rapid Support Commander, 1st<\/sup> Lt. Gen. Mohammed Hamdan Daglo to intensify the provision of aid to the returnees to include all neighborhoods under their control.”<\/p>\n In a rather pertinent context, the Army-controlled areas in the Omdurman suburb has witnessed a continuous displacement of some families as a result of cases of theft and looting that affected a number of citizens\u2019 properties by some military and security agencies, according to their claims.<\/p>\n According to extensive field tours, the peripheral areas of Khartoum were the areas that housed most of the displaced returnees to the Capital.
