The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemn the horrific massacre of members of the Al-Hawazma tribe in the city of Al-Hammadi, South Kordofan State, committed on Wednesday evening (14th May 2025) by the militias of the so-called “Joint Force”, the terrorist “Al-Bara bin Malik Brigades”, and the ISIS army of the Islamic Movement.
The massacre was not an isolated incident, rather, it is a full-fledged war crime and an act of systematic ethnic cleansing, carried out according to premeditated military plans and under political cover. Dozens of families, the majority of them women and children, were brutally slaughtered, and their homes were burned to ashes in one of the most heinous acts of genocide in modern history.
These flagrant violations are taking place amid a deliberate media blackout, aimed at concealing the truth and covering up the horror of the crimes committed. What happened in Al-Hammadi amounts to genocide carried out along ethnic lines.
We hold the leaders of these terrorist militias fully responsible for these crimes. We also call upon the international community, particularly the human rights organizations to shoulder their moral and legal responsibilities regarding what is happening in Sudan. It is high time to put an end to the policy of suspicious silence and double standards in dealing with these events.
In conclusion, we renew our commitment to our people that we will remain faithful to the values of justice, freedom, and human dignity. We will stand resolute against all those whose hands are stained with the blood of our innocent people. We will deliver the justice for the victims—holding accountable both the killers and those who gave the orders, regardless of their positions or titles.
Mercy and forgiveness be upon our righteous martyrs.
