Record high increase in the dollar exchange rate against the Sudanese Pound

On Tuesday, Foreign currency exchange rates witnessed a significant increase against the Sudanese Pound (SDG), with the US dollar reaching a record high of approximately (2,700 pounds) for sale and (2,679 pounds) for purchase.
Sudanese people in various states across the country are trading in two different currencies. The authorities in Port Sudan had previously exchanged the currency for a newer version in areas under their control, while the latter development has yet to be implemented in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.
Moreover, a significant increase in the value of Gulf currencies against the Sudanese pound was recorded, with the Saudi riyal reaching (714.4 pounds). The UAE dirham also rose significantly, reaching (729.972 pounds), while the Qatari riyal rose to approximately (733.97 pounds).
Following two years of war in Sudan, the country witnessed significant human and material losses, impacting all aspects of life and casting a shadow over the Sudanese people, forcing millions to flee from one region to another or to leave their country altogether.
