SAF torture a prisoner by repeatedly stabbing him with a knife

and threatening to slaughter him (video)

On Saturday, the Sudan National Observatory for Human Rights (SNOHR) condemned the Sudanese Army’s slaughter of prisoners inside detention centers. The Observatory considered their field execution a serious war crime and a flagrant violation of international law, including the Geneva Conventions, which protect the rights of POWs. SNOHR emphasized that the aforementioned constitutes a crime against humanity and entails dire consequences.

A video circulated on social media on Saturday documented a prisoner being subjected to psychological torture and inhumane treatment by members of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), as they threatened him with slaughter while the victim was blindfolded. The National Observatory considered this “A new crime in a series of crimes committed by members of the Sudanese Army and its allied militias.”

The Sudan National Observatory called on the United Nations (UN) and human rights organizations to monitor these violations and put forth efforts to hold those responsible accountable, reiterating its willingness to provide all evidence and details proving their involvement in war crimes and crimes against humanity.
