Members of SAF and the Islamist battalions shot and killed a citizen

Members of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Battalions affiliated with the Islamic Movement shot an unarmed Sudanese citizen, killing him and threw his body in the public street after firing a hail of bullets at him.

The Rapid Support Forces condemned the incident, describing it as a heinous crime and an act of selective ethnic cleansing practiced by the Sudanese Armed Forces and the terrorist Islamist battalions.

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) militia, along with their allied terrorist Islamic Movement, continue to commit heinous crimes against innocent civilians. In one of the recent atrocities, armed members of the SAF executed a young man in cold blood, unleashing a barrage of gunfire in an absurd and barbaric act that contradicts the Sudanese values, societal norms, and basic human dignity.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemn the disturbing content of a “video” that has been widely circulated on social media. The footage shows members of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and their allied remnants of Al-Bashir regime battalions committing a horrific crime. In the video, an unarmed young man is violently beaten before two gunmen fire a barrage of bullets, tearing his body apart amid the hysterical shouts of the perpetrators.

This type of crimes of killing, carried out on regional and ethnic grounds of the victim, represent serious violation of both international law and basic human norms. The perpetrators of these acts of systemic violence should be held accountabile in accordance with the international law and norms. Human rights bodies and humanitarian organizations are called to condemn this crime.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) hold the leaders of the Islamic Terrorist Movement and the “Port Sudan Gang” fully accountable for the indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians. These crimes have been fueled by their incitement and efforts to sow division among the Sudanese communities.

The RSF underscores its firm commitment to maintain restraint and will not be provoked and dragged into actions that violate laws or moral principles. The RSF will continue its struggle to liberate Sudan from the grip of this criminal gang, and rebuild a state based on the values of rule of law and justice, after getting rid of the system of terrorism and exploitation.
