Abandoning the Jurisprudence of Persevering Power ?!
Al-Jameel Al-Fadil
I believe am capable of understanding the reasons why the Islamists are fighting in such a ferocious manner in order to stay in power, regardless of the impact and consequences of this war and fierce, relentless fighting on the existence and survival of the State in Sudan.
It seemed as if the Islamic Movement had practically and actually failed to adhere to the fatwa of Ali Osman Mohammed Taha, which indicated at the beginning of this war the necessity for the (Muslim Brotherhood) to adhere to the jurisprudence of “preserving power”, in order to preserve the organization’s cadres perhaps for another stage of the struggle.
Perhaps the confessions of Dr. Amin Hassan Omar on the screen of (Al Jazeera Mubasher) last week, in which he stated that: (Al-Baraa Ibn Malik) isn’t the sole battalion fighting in this war, there are others, such as (Albarq Al-khatif, Al-Furqan) as well as many more. In addition, there are dozens of Islamists fighting, and they represent the vast majority of the fighters. He acknowledged that the Islamic Movement lost two thousand of its members during the ongoing war.
Amin revealed his Movement’s position, that considers this war to be an act of aggression, to which the response cannot be settlements, but should rather entail a response in kind.
Perhaps Amin Hassan Omar’s statement confirms the truth of what Sheikh Abdul-Hayy Youssef stated in the symposium: “God brought this war upon us in order to restore the Islamic Movement’s luster and strength, and I won’t hide from you the fact that tens of thousands of young Muslims were trained, among whom are individuals who didn’t attend the first jihad experience (the war in South Sudan), but are currently supervising this jihad operation, namely; (The Popular Resistance), which is a nickname as they say, because the term jihad has gained a certain level of disregard. They are trained in the camps by those who were young in the nineties. Additionally, among us here is someone who participated in the jihad operations, was subsequently injured in his hand and underwent surgery a few days ago. The victories achieved are in no way due to the Sudanese Army, but -rather- the credit for these victories goes -after God- to the Popular Resistance.”
In any case, history has provided the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan with a rare opportunity, the likes of which has seldom been offered to any other group or party.
Its an opportunity that extended for more than thirty years, during which the Brotherhood transformed an entire country into a large laboratory to experiment with their ideology indisputably.
During those three decades, Sudan as a whole became something like a vital field for practicing the Brotherhood’s theory of governance.
Following their easy success in seizing power in the year (1989), the Brotherhood was afflicted with a state of self-inflation that always invoked a feeling of illegitimate ambition and resulted in a kind of intellectual arrogance that made them falsely believe they were the exclusive owners of the truth.
The late Dr. Mansour Khalid described this type of self-inflation, as even the shells of invertebrates have expanded in size.
Explaining: The expansion of invertebrates doubled when ideological affiliation to the party or group became a passport to every high professional position, whether in government departments, universities, or financial and economic institutions.
Pointing out that the phenomenon was exacerbated to the maximum with the Salvation (Inqaz) regime, under the banner of empowerment.
This banner of empowerment has taken root deep into the earth, only to produce a thorny State with manifestations that included the ongoing war’s current visage.
