Three UN staff members killed in airstrike in Blue Nile

The Office of the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan announced the deaths of (3) of its staff in an airstrike carried out by the Sudanese Army on the (Yabus) town in Blue Nile state.

 

The World Food Programme (WFP) Office was subjected to heavy shelling last night, and the attack resulted in the death of three of its staff, highlighting the increasing risks facing humanitarian organizations in the region.

 

The United Nations stated that the incident comes at a sensitive time, as humanitarian organizations seek to provide essential assistance to those affected by the conflict in Sudan.
