Hamdok: I am not neutral in the ongoing war
Abdalla Hamdok, head of the Coordination-body of the Democratic and Civil Forces “Tagadom”, confirmed that his position in regards to the ongoing conflict isn’t neutral, but rather a position of complete rejection of the war and the false legitimacy that conflicting parties seek in order to justify their actions.
Hamdok explained that he is choosing to fully side with the Sudanese masses, taking into consideration that both parties that ignited the war imposed it on the people without any justification or national cause to support their actions.
He pointed out that the war has claimed the lives of many Sudanese, it led to their displacement and the destruction of their property, which highlights the extent of the suffering experienced by the Sudanese people. Abdalla Hamdok went on to reiterate that his position opposes both conflicting parties, stating that he rejects violence in all its forms.
He indicated that this unwavering position reflects his commitment to achieving peace and the necessity of civil political action, emphasizing the importance of returning to the path of civility.
In conclusion of his statement, Hamdok called for the necessity of achieving peace and stability in Sudan, noting that the only to address this crisis is through dialogue and understanding between all parties.
He stressed that civil and political action will always be the way to achieve the desired change, and that he will remain committed to his position rejecting war and violence, for the sake of a better future for the Sudanese people.
