RSF condemns the Military Aviation’s massacres in South Darfur

The Rapid Support Forces condemned the massacres of the Sudanese Army’s warplanes in South Darfur state, where more than (120) civilians were killed as a result of airstrikes launched by warplanes on a camp for displaced persons in the locality of Balil and the city of Nyala.

The Rapid Support Forces described the attacks on civilians and displaced persons in the camps as barbaric, confirming the death of more than (120) people, most of whom were women, children and the elderly.

The Rapid Support Forces shared in a statement:

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), backed by cross-border airstrikes from foreign forces, has unleashed a new wave of violence and systematic genocide, claiming the lives of hundreds of innocent civilians. These abhorrent attacks, targeting residential neighborhoods in Nyala, include a ruthless airstrike on an IDP camp in Belil in South Darfur State.

In a single horrifying assault, more than 120 individuals — primarily women, children, and the elderly — lost their lives, with hundreds more suffering injuries, many in critical condition. Reports on the full extent of this atrocity continue to emerge.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) condemns the conspicuous silence of international organizations and human rights defenders on these indiscriminate and brutal aerial attacks. We urge the global media to recognize the gravity of these assaults on Nyala, Camp Belil, and similar attacks on IDPs in al-Kuma, North Darfur, as nothing short of “horrific acts of genocide.” The bodies of the slain remain scattered in streets and homes amid the large-scale destruction of essential infrastructure and institutions.

The calculated use of barrel bombs and other devastating weapons by the SAF and its terrorist allies in densely populated areas is evidence of a deliberate campaign by the so-called “Port Sudan gang” to exterminate marginalized communities. This operation, violating every principle of human rights and civilian protection, exemplifies their callous disregard for human life.

We unequivocally state that the ongoing targeting of innocent civilians constitutes war crimes and crimes against humanity. There are no military objectives in these residential neighborhoods or among the compounds sheltering IDPs.

We warn the world of the grave consequences of targeting innocent civilians based on ethnic and regional grounds — actions that will only deepen divisions and inflame tensions within Sudanese society.

We call upon the international community to break its silence, condemn these heinous acts, and meet its moral and legal obligations to protect civilians from such indiscriminate attacks on their lives and livelihoods.

We urge all international human rights organizations, including the United Nations, to stand by their mandates. Immediate action must be taken to bring the perpetrators of these atrocities to justice, and an international commission should be convened to investigate the genocide executed by SAF warplanes in Darfur.

We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to advancing our mission until Sudan is liberated from the stranglehold of the former regime and its extremist allies linked to the Islamic Movement. We will rebuild the Sudanese state on new foundations of justice, unity, and equality for all.
