Intelligence leaks reveal the true face of the Mercenary Movements
Ali Ahmed
I find myself in agreement with the Military Intelligence for the first time, in regards to their description of the leaders of the mercenary Movements allied with Al-Kizan militias in the ongoing war as ‘Warlords’, in an article published yesterday under a pseudonym ‘pen name’.
The journalist under whose name the Intelligence leaked the article stated that she had seen the minutes of a meeting held at the home of Al-Burhan’s Minister of Finance, head of the Justice and Equality Movement, and mercenary Kuz, Gibril Ibrahim, where the meeting included some leaders of the Armed mercenary Movements. This group had agreed on the necessity of seizing (50%) of an authority that is yet to come, from Al-Kizani gang fighting alongside it.
The mercenary Movements have identified some ministries, such as (Foreign Affairs, Interior, Finance, Minerals), in addition to the position of the Transitional (Interim) Prime Minister and the position of the first Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, to be exclusively theirs.
Military Intelligence leaks also revealed that the so-called Warlords of mercenary leaders had demanded two months ago from the leader of the Islamist militias, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, to grant them demands that it described as enforceable and conditional on the continuation of the fight or returning to neutrality. These demands included: (1500) cruiser vehicles, (4) drones, (1500) Dushka, (1500) Goryunov, (1500) RPGs, and (300) sniper rifles. The leaks indicated that Al-Burhan had yet to respond to the demands until the time of publication.
The report clearly indicated that the mercenaries Gibril and Minnawi received from Al-Burhan an amount of (72) million US dollars in exchange for their participation in the Islamist war against the Rapid Support Forces.
Isn’t that enough to describe these Movements (Justice and Equality and Sudan Liberation – Minnawi’s faction in particular) that claim to struggle and fight for the rights of marginalized Darfur citizens in power and wealth, as ‘mercenaries’ ?! They have been behaving in a similar manner since the inception in (2003), when they were highwaymen, robbing citizens and merchants until the people of western Sudan called them (Tora Bora), as armed robbery and mercenary work were its basic Military doctrine.
Al-Kizani Intelligence describing the leaders of the allied Movements as ‘Warlords’ and leaking the minutes of the aforementioned meeting means that matters between the two parties have reached the brink of the abyss, and that the countdown to a new war has already begun. This exact scenario is what many -including myself- warned about early on. We stated that the outbreak of this war is only a matter of time, and that the war between the real Army on the one hand and its kizani leadership and Islamist Movement militias on the other hand will inevitably and undoubtedly occur in the next stage.
Personally, i believe that the outlines of the upcoming war, that have now emerged in this leak, will begin with the Army and kizani militias striking the mercenary Movements; In preparation for expelling them towards Darfur, where those who survive the airstrikes will find themselves alone against the Rapid Support Forces, which will have an easy-to-digest feast, without coverage from local or neighboring aircrafts.
Later on, matters will be settled between the various kizani factions, where fierce battles will erupt between the Army leadership on the one hand; and the militias of Al-Baraa, Special and Operations Authority, as well as the Mobilized Forces. The battles will be bone-breaking, as these terrorist militias seized alot of the Army’s weaponry, including drones and heavy weapons.
As for the mercenary Movements, the matter of getting rid of them was planned before they abandoned their position of neutrality and participated in the war of regrets, and I think -God knows best- that they expected this, so they took a financial reward for this participation. Even though this is merely their habit and firm belief, as they did and continue to send their militias to war in Libya: (Gibril) alongside Tripoli, and (Minnawi) alongside Benghazi!!
Gibril Ibrahim and Minni Arcua Minnawi are cheapening the lives of the people of Darfur by selling them for a pittance in the slave markets of civil wars in Sudan and abroad. Men without conscience or restraint, without religion, shame or morals, money is their greatest concern and being mercenaries is the sum of their knowledge, submissive and at the behest of whoever pays the most.
If the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces had paid them before Al-Burhan, they would have been fighting alongside him now, but he refused, because whoever fights for money doesn’t hold up in a fight and will flee.
The strangest thing about the leaks is that the Movements’ reaction waa limited to accusing the other mercenary, Mustafa Tambour, of leaking the minutes of the meeting to an obscure journalist working for the Intelligence for a financial reward of (a few thousand dollars).
This is an extremely trivial and useless position; how could Tambour pay the journalist while they both work with the Military Intelligence? The truth is that the article that included the leaks was written by the Intelligence and published under the name of this journalist who was recruited by them in exchange for using her name in (dirty work), and this doesn’t cost thousands of dollars, as (100) pounds are enough to use obscure names.
